CONCRETE SCRAPBOOK
© Michelle Krell Malone (ASCAP)

Maria writes her name in the wet cement
It says that she loves Jesse 'til the end
Then they see a movie
They spill popcorn on the floor
They leave their fingerprints
On the door

And bit by bit
We find another hint that
They were there
In the city that we share
Like a

Concrete scrapbook
You can add your page
Collecting memories
New pieces every day
Living side by side
We leave behind the echoes
Of our lives

Melissa spills her coffee on the stairs
Evie drops an earring, who knows where?
Someone else will find it
Maybe see it on the ground, and
They will treasure what they found

And bit by bit
We find another hint that
They were there
In the city that we share
Like a

Concrete scrapbook
You can add your page
Collecting memories
New pieces every day
Living side by side
We leave behind the echoes

Crossing paths on busy streets
All the faces that we see
Memories of our loves and losses
You can read it

And bit by bit
We find another hint that
They were there
In the city that we share
Like a

Concrete scrapbook
You can add your page
Collecting memories
New pieces every day
Living side by side
We leave behind the echoes
Of our lives
Living side by side
We leave behind the echoes
Of our lives
