FIRST SONG
© Michelle Krell Malone (ASCAP)

Summer night with the radio on
Drivin' in your dad's blue Ford
And somewhere out on Deer Valley Road
Heard a song I never heard before
A little tune kind of took my breath away
Like a bell, very clear, that

First love, first song, never goes away
And I forgot the name, just a tune that came on late
Down a dusty road on our first real date
First love, first kiss, first song

The air's so still now sagebrush fills
My mind with memories
Our first time out alone at night
Wide awake while the world sleeps
The little tune it still hangs in the air
Like a bell, very clear, that

First love, first song, never goes away
And I forgot the name, just a tune that came on late
Down a dusty road on our first real date
First love, first kiss, first song

Well I'd like to find that road again
Hear that song and turn the volume up to ten
But any sultry August night like tonight
It takes me back in time
To that place where I know everything is right

That first love, first song, never goes away
And I forgot the name, just a tune that came on late
Down a dusty road on our first real date
First love, first kiss, first song
First love, first kiss, first song
